Six chapters, one rising line.
Each chapter below is taken from the story Sahil tells on his own site. The order is real: every stage grew out of the one before it.
The constructed self
Commerce, college, EY, management, JBIMS, consulting, government. A respectable path that looked coherent on paper.
The descent
The map stopped working. Running a kirana shop in Mehrauli made ordinary life observable: customers, habits, bargaining, desire, money.
The question
Why do people fail to become who they say they are? The answer became the Identity–Action Gap, the distance between belief and behaviour.
The witness
Psychology led to philosophy, and philosophy to consciousness. The observer became part of the experiment.
The maker
Writing gave ideas language, websites gave them space, and perfumery gave them a physical form.
Integration
The MBA, the shop, research, AI, philosophy, writing and perfume stopped competing. They became instruments of one study.
The observer is inside the experiment.
Consciousness observes experience, acts, then observes the action. Sahil's ongoing project, A Study in Consciousness by Consciousness, works from inside that loop instead of pretending to stand outside it.
It makes no claim to have solved consciousness. The point is to stay curious enough to keep looking, and to let ideas become writing, systems, objects and fragrances that the real world can answer.
House of Venus: human experience, bottled.
Perfume became Sahil's way of studying memory, attraction, confidence and connection. His fragrance house, The Venusian Arts, is organised by states of being instead of notes. Each of the eight rooms below is a cue, and the fragrance is meant to select you, not the other way round.
Liquid Courage ↗
For the moment thinking has done enough and movement becomes the answer.
Visit room →Connection ↗
A feminine fragrance from a man's perspective, about risking being understood.
Visit room →Essays on building a meaningful life.
On Medium, Sahil writes under the line “I bridge ancient maps and modern vocabulary”, covering Vedic philosophy, consciousness studies and ambition.
